What is a Virtual Tour?

Panoramic photography and the creation of virtual tours by virtual tour companies for on-line use is quickly becoming the new and innovative cost effective way to market properties on-line, but many estate agents are still a little in the dark when it comes to the application of the technology, how the technology is used and what that technology actually is. Panoramic images have existed for a long time, in the early days panoramas were created using nothing more than a 35mm camera and good judgement!

Photographs were taken from a single point with a certain amount of overlap for each photo, when developed, typically the photographs were lay on a piece of card and arranged by overlapping each photograph in the hope of creating one large seamless panorama.
