Before taking photographs a suitable position for the tripod is found, it's important not to be too close to any objects or walls as the photograph blending software can struggle to stitch photographs if there is nothing but a white wall for several of the shots. If there are mirrors in the scene that you are attempting to capture then bare in mind if you don't place the tripod carefully you will feature in the finished movie. The tripod is then levelled and the panoramic head checked to ensure the correct number of increments for the lens used.
