Virtual House Tours
More and more estate agents and private owners are turning to
virtual tours of their residential houses to give them the edge
when marketing a property.
There are a range of different types and standards of tour. Some
companies specialise in creating bespoke tours (see Revolution
Viewing.com for examples of yacht virtual tours, showroom virtual
tours, bar virtual tours etc), some companies specialise in creating
affordable virtual tours specifically for the housing market (that's
Panoviewing.co.uk), some companies do both and some don't seem
to specialise in anything at all.
Beware the web-design house or marketing company that 'also do
virtual tours'. Without doubt there will be some out there that
do a perfectly good job, but we have had people come to us complaining
that their virtual tours by Company 'X' look poor and in some cases
don't work. We have had some clients that have initially opted
for the cheaper Company 'X' only to find that they received an
inferior product and service and had to recommission the project.
In each case we were happy to create the virtual tour properly,
but we are always frustrated when we hear of unscrupulous characters
out there making it more difficult for the professionals to market
high quality virtual tours.
For selling houses an integrated floor plan is usually recommended.
A specialist virtual tour provider should be able to create and
supply a floor plan for each level of the house that allows the
user to click on any of the rooms for direct access to that room.
A nice touch is when your virtual tour provider can supply a larger
floor plan with room dimensions. See www.panoviewing.co.uk for
an example of virtual tours with floor plans and floor plans with
dimensions. It is always worth clarifying with your virtual tour
provider whether or not they will be an additional charge for a
set of floor plans.
